Here is Thinkfood recipe number 13!
Let me start this one right off the bat with the fact that I don’t really eat red meat. Aside from a good steak a couple of times a year for special occasions, I don’t really even think about it otherwise.
Also, raw pork tenderloin grosses me out a little bit…..well really raw red meat of any kind does.
Unless it is used as a fashion statement……
(this photo is from some news site that I found last night, but I cannot find it again to link to it!)
Nah, that is still pretty gross.
Although, as I was watching it on the VMA’s, it never really occurred to me that it could be real meat. I guess I just thought it was a meaty looking pattern on a dress. I think I just forgot that it was Lady Gaga wearing the dress, and that she does what she wants and has her own style – like it or not. Also, I thought it was pretty appropriate that Cher was presenting the award to her – from one fashion trendsetter to another.
Anyways, back to the meat at hand.
This week’s recipe is from Katerina at Daily Unadventures in Cooking. You can find the recipe here. (Unfortunately the recipe post is no longer available)
Just like when I surprised myself with how much I liked the salmon that I made, I surprised myself with this as well. It was very flavorful and juicy, not bad at all. This doesn’t mean that I will now be eating pork on a more regular basis – it still grosses me out a bit, and I don’t exactly love the fact that I am eating a pig. (sorry)
However, I have to say that it gives me hope for trying new and different things. This is why I am challenging myself to make different meals. Maybe someday I’ll even wrap my head around making those Sardines.
Ease: B+, there was marinating involved, and you definitely needed to keep an eye on it the whole time it was cooking to make sure it wouldn’t burn. Other than than, nothing too bad.
Taste: B+, I was definitely surprised at how much I liked it.
Will I make it again? Probably not – unless I get a hankering for pork some day.

Now, I need to stop eating these blondies and get my butt to Pilates. Speaking of Pilates, Madison Pilates, where I go, has a great Groupon deal today for Equipment classes. If you are in the Madison area, you should definitely check it out!
