Roasted Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter

Apparently I was a good girl this year because Santa did a fantastic job with my gifts!  One of those gifts was this beauty:

Food Pocessor

I have wanted a food processor for SO long.

Now I just had to decide what to make to christen my brand new food processor.  I immediately went to Ashley’s website Edible Perspective.  I knew that she has made a ton of nut butter recipes, and that is definitely something that I couldn’t make without a food processor.  (also her photography is GORGEOUS.  Seriously, even if you aren’t interested in food, go check out her site for the photos.)  I had some leftover almonds from the cinnamon almonds that I made, so I knew it would be some kind of almond butter.  I ended up choosing her Roasted Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter.  You can find the recipe here.

The food processor was amazing.  It turned crunchy almonds into smooth butter with ease!

Nut Butter

Ease: A-, you do have to roast the almonds first, but really nothing too hard at all.  The food processor does all of the work.
Taste: B, I don’t exactly love almonds, but this was pretty good.  And super cool that it is something that most people buy in a store and I could make my own!!

Would I make it again? I’m undecided.  I didn’t love it, but the Husband actually said that it tasted better than almond butters that he has had from the store, so maybe I will make it again.

Ok, so tell me:  What is the best thing that you have used a food processor for?
If you don’t have a food processor, is there a recipe that you are dying to make with a food processor??
For me, it was always Savvy Julie’s Chocolate Hazlenut Spread and now I can make it!!  So excited.  Definitely in the plans for this weekend. 🙂
