Pizza Dip

As I’m sure you all are aware by now, the Superbowl was last weekend!

In case you were in a food coma during and after the Super Bowl (which would be totally understandable)

THE PACKERS WON!!!

We went a friend’s house to watch and there was actually a Steelers fan there! Of course it’s a lot of fun to to be with a group of like-minded fans, but it was also pretty fun to have a little friendly competition in the mix.  Especially since we won. 🙂

So, of course I brought some food to the party.  I had a hard time deciding!  There were so many great ideas out there!

I decided to go with Pizza Dip.  Two popular party foods mixed together into one!  I found the recipe here.

Pizza Dip

(I realize this photo kind of looks like some kind of sideways floating dish, but I didn’t have many to choose from since I had to snap them quick before it got eaten!)

This was really easy to make!  And honestly, aside from the spices, I didn’t really even pay attention to measurements, I just went with what looked good.  Basically this means that it probably had a ton more cheese than was called for, but whatever.  😉

By popular demand, I also left off the black olives, peppers and onions.  But if you normally like those on a pizza, you would like them in this dip.  Really, you could add anything to this dip that you would normally add to a pizza.

We had various breads as dippers.  Personally, I liked the sliced sourdough, but others liked the crunchier breads.

Ease: A, really easy.  You don’t even really need to measure anything exactly, you can definitely just “eyeball it.”  If you were in a time crunch, you could even microwave it.
Taste: A, it tasted so much like pizza, it was crazy!

Would I make it again? Definitely.  It is a great party dish.  I think everyone there wanted the recipe so that they could add it to their repertoire and change up the potluck offerings to come.

I know the most fun part for a lot of people watching the Superbowl is the commercials. I’m not sure that I had many favorite commercials this year.  I was biased towards this one, of course, because there was a pug.

I also think the Darth Vader Volkswagon commercial was pretty cute.

Did you have any favorite commercials this year? Please share!

  1. GO PACKERS ! 🙂

    that dip looks SO good…

I love both of those ads… the Bridgestone ad about the “reply all email” was hilarious too!

  2. the dip looks delicious! i liked the doritos commercial with the finger-licking – so awkward!!!

  3. Definitely going to be trying that dip sometime… Nom!

I thought of all my pug-owning friends when that Doritos commercial came on, lol. I’d already seen the darth vader one, but it was still adorable. 🙂

Honestly, I don’t remember the commercials nearly as much as the game itself! Although, I seem to recall laughing when Rosanne got leveled during the Snickers commercial… 😀 Oh, and the Pepsi Max first date commercial was pretty good, too.
