Day 2 of California Life

Let me give you a quick run down of my day yesterday.

After blogging by the pool, I headed down to check out the Santa Monica Place mall.

Santa Monica Place

Once I got there, I strolled along to check out the shops for a while.  I actually didn’t go in any stores – shocking, I know! – but don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll be back! 🙂

Right next to the mall is the Third Street Promenade.  The Promenade is filled with lots of shops and dining as well.  It reminds me a little bit of State Street in Madison.

While down on the promenade I stopped at Johnnies NY Pizza where I had some delicious pizza that was served with garlic knots.  (review to come) I know that everyone has been raving about garlic knots for a while, but OMG, these were SO good.  They were a nice change to get instead of breadsticks.  I definitely need to make some when I get back home.

After lunch I headed back to the hotel to rest a bit before the Husband got off of work.

Once he was done with work, we started the process of decided what to eat for dinner.  There are so many different restaurants here that it is a little bit overwhelming to figure out where to go – especially if you don’t have a type of food in mind.  Luckily we have internet access and smart phones so the decision is easier to make.

We decided to go to a Thai restaurant that was just a short drive from the hotel. Although the little strip mall that it was in was not so great, Celadon Thai Kitchen was really good!  A cute little Thai restaurant that was definitely some of the best I’ve ever had. (review to come)

Now I’m going to get ready for my day and probably head down to another mall area – these seem to be the best areas to find parking and lots of things to do.  I promise I’m not just spending every day shopping….well, at least not yet. 😉
