Full Disclosure: I paid for this meal with my own money and I was in no way reimbursed for this blog post. The opinions are completely my own.
Thai food might be one of the only ethic cuisines that the Husband and I always agree on. Thai was the first “exotic” food (read: not macaroni and cheese) that the Husband convinced me to eat when we started dating. Since then, I have been in love with Pad Thai. For out second night in California, we decided to find some Thai food for dinner. There are many many Thai restaurants to choose from here, but we finally settled on Celadon Thai Kitchen.
One thing that I have learned about California restaurants is that even if they are in a slightly grungy looking strip mall, it does not mean that they are a bad restaurant or have bad food. This place was by far the nicest place in this little strip mall, and it was delicious. It was a very little place – maybe 15 tables of two – but it definitely was worth going to!
To start, we ordered the Fried Tofu.
Yum! Just what you would expect it to be, deep fried goodness.
For dinner I had Pad Thai (as usual) with tofu
and the Husband had Chicken Curry.
They were both very good. Mine was not the same as my usual Pad Thai back home. It was not as sweet, and the tofu was softer and in larger pieces, but it was still very, very good! The husband liked his, but said it was a lot spicier than he is used to. Not a bad thing for him, but definitely too spicy for me to eat!
Even though we were both pretty full from the delicious dinner we decided to get dessert. Who can resist Mango with Sticky Rice, really?
YUM!
Taste: A, everything was very good, even if it was different than my usual thai restaurant.
Cost: A-, it was a little bit more expensive, but not too bad.
Would I go there again? If it didn’t seem like there was a different Thai place on every block, then yes I would. However since there are so many (and I don’t live here) I feel like I should try a different one every time just to get a different experience.
