Restaurant Review: Steakhouse 55

Full Disclosure:  I paid for this meal with my own money and I was in no way reimbursed for this blog post.  The opinions are completely my own.

When we were at Disneyland, we decided that we would just eat snacks during the day, and then eat a nicer meal for dinner. Since this trip was very last minute, we had no dinner reservations.  At a Disney park, this is not good.  Especially during the busy seasons the table service restaurants fill up quickly – sometimes months in advance! Early in the afternoon we decided we should call and make a reservation for whatever we could find.  We ended up making reservations at Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Resort Hotel.

Unlike Disney World, everything on the Disneyland property is pretty much within walking distance of each other.  The Disneyland Hotel was just a few minutes walk from the Disneyland park.

The restaurant is quite fancy.  However, since it is at Disneyland, we didn’t feel out of place in our casual clothes.  It is pretty much your typical upscale steakhouse with meaty entrees like fillet mignon, lamb and prime rib.  And of course salads and other sides that cost extra.  Unfortunately I had a major food blogger fail and didn’t bring the appropriate camera lens with me. 🙁  Luckily I had my iPhone and the camera is pretty decent so I took photos with that instead.

The meal started out with delicious sourdough bread and butter.

The husband had the Steakhouse 55 seven onion soup and parmesan crisp.

I realize that this is not a good photo at all.  He said it was a good though, not quite like French onion soup, but it did have parmesan crisp bits it is that made it even better.

For dinner, we both had the 8oz filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and delicious.


I also added scallops to my meal, since it was their special for the day.  Those were good as well, but not quite as delicious as the steak.


For sides we had a baked potato and macaroni and cheese. The baked potato was quite large, but not quite as huge as the one that I had at The Warehouse.

Overall the meal was very good.  The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing.  A good break from waiting in lines in the hot sun.  The meal was expensive – over $100 for the two of us.  This is obviously not a meal that we would have on a regular basis, but the service was great and the food was delicious.  I was a very nice splurge.

Taste: A, very good, fresh, quality food.
Cost: B+, I only can’t give it an A because it was so expensive, but I really do think that it was worth the cost.

Would I go there again? Yeah,  I think that if I happened to be in Disneyland and looking for a nice place to eat in the future I would choose to go there again.
