Full Disclosure: I paid for this meal with my own money and I was in no way reimbursed for this blog post. The opinions are completely my own.
Since there seems to be a Thai restaurant on every corner here, and I love Pad Thai, I decided that this was a great opportunity to try another Thai restaurant while I was here. Although, I will admit that since Celadon was SO good I was concerned that anything else wouldn’t meet my expectations. I did consider just going back to Celadon for lunch, but decided that It would be more fun to try somewhere new.(Trying new things IS what this blog is all about, right? 🙂 ) There are so many that it was kind of hard to choose! I will tell you the truth about how I decided though: there was a flyer that some sneaky delivery person stuck into our hotel door. I know it isn’t the most scientific way of deciding, but if someone else in our complex ordered it, it must be alright. I then headed to Ekkamai Thai Restaurant to pick up my lunch.
Today I decided to get lunch to-go, mostly because I am lazy and decided that I wanted to just chill and eat at the hotel. When I arrived at the restaurant I was excited to see that there was a small parking lot in the back behind the building. Parking is often frustrating here because almost nowhere has a parking lot and since everyone drives, street parking spots are hard to come by. So the fact that this place has a lot is definitely a plus.
The restaurant was fairly busy, and it only took about 10 minutes for me to get my food, which is pretty fast! I ordered the Pad Thai – because even though I tell you that I love Thai food, by that I really mean that I love Pad Thai. Recently I have switched from chicken to tofu in my Pad Thai. Tofu is my preference for most stir fried things right now!
It was very good! It was also very different than both the Pad Thai that I used to in Madison, and the other Pad Thai that I’ve had here. The sauce was a lot lighter – as in, it wasn’t as strong tasting. Does that even make sense? Anyways. It was still delicious, and also a rather large portion for lunch!
Taste: A, even though it was different than what I’ve had before, it was still good!
Cost: A, I thought it was very reasonable – only $7.95!
Would I go there again? I’m not sure. Since there are so many Thai places here, and each place I’ve gone to so far has been very different I think I would rather try another place.
