Restaurant Review: Blue Plate

Full Disclosure:  I paid for this meal with my own money and I was in no way reimbursed for this blog post.  The opinions are completely my own.

Sometimes I want breakfast for lunch.

Ok, lets be honest, most of the time I would prefer breakfast foods to lunch foods.

The last few days that I was in California, I found myself somehow bored with the options that my searching was giving me for lunch foods. (read: I had more than enough pizza and Thai for lunch in the past weeks that I wanted to try something new)  So, I decided to search for breakfast/brunch establishments.  The first place that I decided to try was Blue Plate.

The inside of the restaurant is quite small, and therefore noisy, definitely not somewhere you want to go to have a relaxing meal.  However, it was a fun place to people watch, and the food was delicious.

I started off with a Superfruit Smoothie which included strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberry, apple, mango, banana, pineapple, peach and orange juice.  It was SO good.  The consistency was great and the blend of fruits was delicious.

For breakfast lunch I had the Combo which includes two eggs (I got mine scrambled), 1/2 order of pancakes or french toast (I chose pancakes) and a choice of bread (I chose sourdough) and fruit.

It was a lot of food, and very filling!  The pancakes, eggs, everything was great.

This restaurant is in a chic little shopping area on Montana Ave in Santa Monica.  After breakfast, I walked around a bit and browsed some shops.  It is a very cute area, I wish I would have known about it earlier in my trip!

Taste: A, delicious!
Cost: B+, it was a little bit expensive, I think my food was $9.95, but not too bad.

Would I go there again? Yeah, I think I would.  I definitely want to try another one of their smoothies, as well as maybe some actual lunch food!  Also, I didn’t see any celebrities (that I know of at least) but from what I’ve read this is a popular restaurant for celebrity sightings as well.  🙂
