I have this Savvy Friend. She writes incredible reicpes – I’m particularly fond of those for baked goods. There have been scones, quick breads, muffins….and many more that I haven’t gotten around to making yet. This recipe is no exception to that trend of delicious baked goods. You can find the recipe here.
This recipe actually tastes surprisingly similar to the Applesauce Spice Bread – but with a chocolatey twist! However, it is chocolatey without being too chocolatey. I feel like I could eat this as a snack….or maybe even breakfast……or a nice, light, dessert. It has that crispy outer edge, and chewy insides. Delicious.
I also really enjoyed that Julie used mini chocolate chips instead of normal size. I didn’t think that it would make a huge difference at first, but it really did. With normal size chips I don’t think the chocolate would have been as evenly spread out…..or it would have been way too chocoaltey.
Ease: A, all normal, easy ingredients.
Taste: A+, really, really good.
Would I make it again? Absolutely. This would be great for a gift, to take to a party, or to eat at home. 🙂

This looks amazing! I already printed out that recipe and I’m planning on making it very soon! I love that it doesn’t have any eggs in it- it’s so hard to find a good quickbread recipe without eggs!
Julie’s quick breads are all amazing. I’ve made the applesauce spice bread also (which doesn’t have eggs either) and it is sooooo good!
I printed that one out too!
