I love, love, LOVE breakfast foods. However, I don’t often eat more than a bagel and cream cheese during the week. On occasion, we will have pancakes, or egg sandwiches for brunch of a lazy weekend morning, but I don’t usually get super creative. This is why I most often make other people’s recipes instead of creating my own.
Luckily, there are many fabulous bloggers that make delicious breakfast recipes for when I am in the mood for trying something new. I’ve made other recipes that Caitlin has come up with before, and they have always been delicious! This time, I decided to try Caitlin’s French Toast Casserole. Her version is actually a Chocolate French Toast Casserole, but I didn’t have chocolate milk, so I just used regular. I actually usually don’t prefer super sweet breakfasts, so I didn’t mind not having the chocolate milk. You can find the recipe here.
The recipe was not hard at all to make, but I didn’t realize that it would take so long to bake (clearly I didn’t read the whole recipe before baking. Oops!) so I was quite hungry when it was finally done.
Luckily, it was totally worth the wait and definitely delicious. I love how filling the egg makes it, but it still tastes bready. It was so good.
Ease: A-, there is a little bit of prep, and it takes a while to bake, but otherwise not bad at all.
Taste: A, very good.
Would I make it again? Yeah, I think so. Next time maybe I would add apples, or cinnamon and sugar, or something else to make it a little different.
