Full Disclosure: I paid for this meal with my own money and I was in no way reimbursed for this blog post. The opinions are completely my own.
On my drive down to Kentucky last week, I realized that I had no idea where I would be eating each of the 4 nights that I was there. In my road trip boardom I sent out one last tweet in hopes that someone out there would be someone reading that knew of places to eat in Louisville. I was SO excited when Sarah tweeted me back – she lives in Louisville! I then scoured Sarah’s blog for restaurant suggestions, and she emailed me with others as well.
The first place that jumped out at me from her suggestions was Bluegrass Brewing Company. The co-worker that I was with is a huge fan of beers – especially beers that are local to the city we are in. I am not a beer lover, but I know that most brewery type restaurants have at least something that I will enjoy.
Bluegrass Brewing Company has a few different locations and one of them was just a short walk from our hotel!
When I looked at the menu I was (pleasantly) surprised to see a large variety of food! Generally at brewery type places I expect that I will be ordering some kind of chicken sandwich or chicken tenders but there were many other options here! Maybe breweries are just different in the south and this is normal for places not in the midwest?
The co-worker that I was with ordered the crab cakes and she said they were delicious! They had lots of veggies and rice along with them and they looked delicious as well!
I had the margherita pizza, which was good, but different than I expected. It had a slightly creamy garlic sauce on it which was good, but at times too much for me. However, the cheese and crust and the pizza as a whole was delicious!
Overall the meal was good, and the servers and waitstaff were all very friendly. It was a good first impression of Louisville!
Taste: A, good food and good variety.
Cost: A, my pizza was 9.99 and it definitely was two or more servings worth. Not bad at all.
Would I go there again? I think so. With the convenience and variety, as well as reasonable prices, I’d say that there is a good chance I’d go if I was in Louisville again.

My co-worker loved it! She even took home a “Beer is Food” t-shirt 🙂
