Flemings Anniversary Dinner

Full Disclosure:  I paid for this meal with my own money and I was in no way reimbursed for this blog post.  The opinions are completely my own.

Earlier this week we went to Flemings Steakhouse for dinner to celebrate our Anniversary.  I’ve reviewed Flemings in the past (here) so I didn’t want to do another full review, but I do want to share with you a few things that I discovered this time.

  • If you reserve your table through their website from now until December 30, you get $25 off a purchase over $50!  All you have to do is go to their website, click the link to reserve, and it will automatically be taken off your bill.  Because it seemed like such an easy and awesome deal, I wasn’t sure that it would actually work – but it did! $25 off the bill at the end of the meal.  Easy peasy.  (More info can be found here.)
  • I am horrible about deciding what kind of wine I want.  I know that I like wine, generally red, and generally not super dry.  Well, I figured out a way to solve my decision making problem – the Wine Flight.  I chose 3 different wines that I wanted to try (with help from our waitress, because seriously, I am clueless)  and got essentially a sampler of 2 oz of each of them.  It worked out really well, and I definitely could tell that I liked some more than others. If you want to try more expensive wines, this is definitely the way to go.  I’m not entirely sure how they calculate the cost of the flight, but it looked to me that they just took 1/3 of the price of each glass.  Definitely a fun way to try wines, and save some money as well.
  • When we make reservations at restaurants, normally I don’t mention that it is an anniversary or birthday or whatever.  Well, in the future I will definitely be doing that.  When the waitress asked if we were here for a special occasion and we said it was our anniversary, we not only got a cute card from Flemings, but we also got a little cake to take home at the end of the meal!

I had no idea about this! Do other nicer restaurants do this too?  From now on I will definitely be telling restaurants when we are celebrating something because who knows what we might get.  I’m obviously a sucker for freebies.  Especially when they are delicious chocolate cake. 🙂 (we were actually stuffed from our dinner and ended up taking it home and eating it the next day.)

Other than that, the meal was good, and we definitely had a happy, and very filling, anniversary dinner!

  1. oh my goodness- hotels give you upgrades too! I swear, my parents have been celebrating their 25 anniversary for years! They usually give you an upgrade or some gift upon arrival. SO funny.

  2. i’ve never been to flemings, but that’s awesome about the $25 discount AND the cake! we’ve never gotten anything extra for celebrating a meal out. i guess we need to go to fancier places! hah!
