Hello Friends, happy weekend! Today I thought I’d share with you a few things that I’ve been meaning to tell you about but haven’t been able to fit into their own post. So here goes. Oh, and for the most part these things are not really at all related, so just bear with the randomness 🙂
————————-
Have you heard of Birchbox? It basically is like a magazine subscription, except instead of getting a magazine each month you get a small box of beauty product samples! I’ve only been getting this for about 3 months now (Full Disclosure: I pay for this product with my own money and am in no way being compensated for this post), but it is so much fun! I was afraid that it was going to be a lot of product that I don’t use, since I’m not a big makeup wearer, but there actually are a lot of non-makeup things in each box! In my March box, I got a Twistband – along with some other awesome things – and I am in love. I have super thick hair so basically any hair tie that I use stretches out in inevitably breaks after only a few uses. The Twistband that I got worked so well that I decided to buy myself more! Even though it does stretch out a bit, it still holds my hair tightly and it never snags like other hair ties do. Even when I use them for running or yoga I rarely have to adjust my ponytail, which is something that is a regular occurrence/annoyance if I use a normal hair tie. Extra added bonus – they come in lots of great colors! If you have super thick hair like me you will love these. They start off looking pretty small, but don’t worry because they stretch a lot more that they look and even when they are stretched out they still hold very well!

A few weeks ago Molly from NatureBox contacted me and asked if I would like to try one of their boxes. (We actually had just been chatting on Twitter about our mutual love for Birchbox!) I agreed to try it and give her some feedback. NatureBox is a brand new company that is aiming to get healthy snack foods in the hands of people who may not have access to them. Similar to Birchbox, it is a monthly subscription service. (Full Disclosure: Even though I got to try the product for free, these are my own opinions and I am not being compensated for this post.)
NatureBox is still pretty new, but I think they are such a great idea and are going to do great things to bring healthy snack choices to everyone! Check out their site, and use the promo code HEALTHY for 25% your first month’s box! The March box that I got came with a recipe to use some of the items in the box too! I haven’t made it yet, but I definitely am going to soon, I’ll be sure to let you know how it turns out.

I finished my sweater! I can’t say that I am 100% pleased with how it turned out, but I’m at about 90% and for my first knitting project of this size I’d say I’m pretty happy with that. I love the colors and the pattern, but the size just doesn’t fit me quite perfectly. Either way, I can now check that off of my 101 in 1001 list! I’m in the process of writing a post about the things I learned while knitting this sweater, so stay tuned!

I finally got a RoadID! I opted for the shoe version since I’m pretty sure something dangling on my wrist while running would only distract me. Also, since it will always be on my shoe, I won’t ever forget to take it with me! (Full Disclosure: I paid for this product with my own money and I’m not being compensated for this post)

I’m still obsessed with the chocolate chip cookie in a cup. Go make it.

congrats on finishing the sweater! 🙂 it looks great and as always, i am so impressed with your knitting skills!
Thank you Sarah!!
So you like Birchbox? Kelly and I are so over it. We have now gotten 3 of those hair ties. 3 separate months. Also- food doesn’t count. Thankfully we are done in July. It started out good, but we’ve had too many months of disappointment to continue! Is that where you got the Essie sparkle topcoat? I got that last month. Lore did my nails (or should I say 3 of them) yesterday with it. 🙂
Yeah, the last few months of Birchbox have been good! I did get the sparkly Essie nail polish there too. I split it with Angela, so it usually works out that there are things that both of us can use.
I agree about the food though! I remember getting some granola in one of the first boxes and I was really confused about what that had to do with beauty products!
