I swear I don’t go out to eat for every single meal…even though that is kind of what this blog might make you think recently. That isn’t to say that my meals at home are particularly interesting, but they are happening. More interesting things than my meals: desserts. For some reason desserts are more fun, and more often made at home. Recently I’ve been loving Strawberries. (ok, maybe thats not such a recent development, I’ve always loved strawberries) I was very excited to find a large container of organic strawberries at CostCo the other week, but they started to take a turn for the worst before I could finish them all. I knew I had to use the in a baked good, so that they wouldn’t go to waste, so I decided to make bread. This Strawberry Banana Bread from Daily Garnish to be exact.
The bread was not hard at all to make. I’m a big fan of baked goods that don’t involve me bringing out the mixer.
The taste of this bread isn’t as sweet as I was hoping, but I think if I made it again I’d sprinkle some coarse sugar on top before baking it and that would take care of the problem. I loved the flavor and texture that the strawberries added to it though!
Ease: A, pretty easy, just a little bit of work prepping the strawberries and bananas.
Taste: A-, not quite perfect, but pretty good!
Would I make it again? I think so…next time hopefully I can figure out a way to make it a bit sweeter!
