Restaurant Review: Le Peep Restaurant

Full Disclosure: I paid for this meal for my own money.  I am not being compensated for this post, and the opinions are completely my own.

After a weekend that flew by, we decided to go out for breakfast in Evanston before tackling the drive home.  We didn’t stress too much about finding the perfect place since we really wanted to get on the road pretty quickly.  We ended up going to Le Peep Restaurant which was a short walk from our hotel.

It was pretty crowded when we got there and we weren’t sure if we would get a table, but we did get one of the last ones.  A couple of large groups of people came in shortly after we were seated so we got there just in time!

For his breakfast the husband had Waffle Sandwich – one egg, two pieces of bacon, and two waffle wedges.  But uh, don’t be fooled, it apparently isn’t actually a sandwich? See photo below.  Other than that little misinterpretation, he said the food was pretty good.

For my breakfast I had the Le Egg Sandwich – this one IS actually a sandwich.  Egg, and cheese on a bagel with potatoes on the side.  The sandwich was pretty good.   I’m picky about bagels, and this one definitely made the cut –  I’m pretty sure I could eat egg and cheese bagels for every meal!    The potatoes were not anything fancy or special, in fact they were pretty bland.

Overall, although the meal wasn’t great, it did the trick for a quick but quality breakfast.

Taste: B+, a decent meal, but not the best.
Cost:  A, although we didn’t love the meal, the price was decent.

Would I go there again?  I don’t think so.  The food just wasn’t great, and there are many other options in the city.

  1. I hate it when potatoes look SO GOOD but just taste blah.
