Full Disclosure: I paid for this meal with my own money and the opinions are completely my own.
When I am out of town for work we usually just grab something at the convention for breakfast, or sometimes we even just wait until lunch for a full meal. This time, though, we had an extra day on the schedule so it was a bit more laid back. Since we had a little bit of extra time we decided to go out for breakfast. We didn’t want anything too far away since we did have to attend the conference as well that day, but we did want something more than a bagel. On other mornings we was a breakfast buffet going on at BLU Italian Grille at our hotel, so we decided to go there.
They did have plated options as well, but since they were about the same price as the buffet once you include a beverage, we decided to just go with that in hopes of getting the most for our money.
The buffet had pretty typical options, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, oatmeal, bagels, toast, omelette station, and some pastries. I picked up some oatmeal with brown sugar and maple syrup, fruit, toast, and scrambled eggs. The oatmeal was pretty good but nothing special, which is about what the toast and fruit were too. The eggs….honestly I only got them because I felt like I needed some protein because they didn’t look good in on the buffet either. They were mushy and soft…not how I like my scrambled eggs. I only ate a couple of bites, I should’ve gone with the omelette station.
Overall the meal wasn’t bad, just not the great breakfast that I was hoping for.
Taste: B, pretty average.
Cost: B-, for what I ate – probably not worth the $16 price tag for the buffet.
Would I go there again? Probably not, well not for breakfast at least.
