Thursday Things

Its time for another list of random things that don’t really relate at all to each other but I want to share them with you!

——————————–

You’ve heard me talk about the Healthy Living Blogs community in the past.  The wonderful people I’ve met through the community, how they were a big part of Healthy Living Summit last year, and how I am an official part of the HLB team.  Well, HLB is very close to a pretty big goal – 2,000 members!  In an effort to meet that goal (and then some) HLB is holding a member drive! The goal: 2,013 by 2013!

2013by2013

Have you been thinking about joining this great community? Now is the time! Already a member of HLB?  Blog about the member drive and you could win free ad space on HLB! Check out the 2,013 by 2013 page for more info!

Last week I sent my package for the Kitty and Canine gift exchange!  It was really fun to be paired with Monique who also has a pug and a cat.  Olive and Miss Kitty got lots of fun things from Sheila and Snow Snuggles!

Pet Exchange

Thanks for organizing the exchange KJ!

Side Note: It is not easy to photograph pet toys without getting the pets in the photo.  Here is a blooper:

Cat Photobomb

————————————

Jimmy Fallon.  Mariah Carey.  One of the best Christmas songs of all time.

You’re welcome.

My friend Julie, who blogs over at Savvy Eats, has always been good with the DIY gifts.  This year, though, she really came up with some great ideas.  One of them I actually received for my birthday!

DIY Hot Chocolate

This hot chocolate/cocoa care package was so fun! Head over to her blog to find out more specifics!
She also has a great gift idea for DIY popcorn seasonings.

I’m not sure I could handle making marshmallows, but those popcorn seasonings look easy and would make a fun and unique gift!!

Speaking of DIY, remember back in 2010 when I joined Heather in attempting a mostly handmade Christmas? It is kind of crazy to think about all of that DIY looking back on it!  Heather has a great post up recapping a bunch of the different projects that she featured during that time (here).  This year I’m not doing 100% DIY, not even close.  But I am doing some! Here is one of the projects that I made this year:

2 Dishcloths (you could do just 1 or more than 2)
1 Bar of locally produced soap
Some kind of string or twine or ribbon to tie them all together.

Voila!

Dish Cloth Gift

Hope you all are having a great week!
