Doing a Day in the Life post has been on my to-do list for a long time. I put it on my 101 in 1001 list a while back, and then more recently added it to my list of things on that list that I am actually hoping to finish on that list. Since I haven’t been doing a stellar job with the 28 Day Blog Challenge, I thought this would be a good thing to check off as a part of that challenge. So, a few days ago I documented a pretty typical day and now finally have it all written up to share with you. It really isn’t all that interesting, but I enjoy reading day in the life type posts from bloggers that don’t usually do them, so I hope you enjoy mine!

Day in the life 2/20/13
————————————————
7:00am – husbands alarm goes off. He snoozes it a few times.
7:30 or so – husband gets out of bed and into the shower.
While he’s in the shower I usually lay in bed and check Twitter/Facebook etc on my phone.
Around 8:00 he’s out of the shower, gotten Olive out of bed and is taking her outside to potty. Time for me to get out of bed!
I head to the kitchen to make breakfast – bagel and cream cheese, and a glass of water. My standard.
I kiss the husband goodbye as he leaves for work and then eat my breakfast.
I check email/read blogs/etc on my computer until about 8:30. Then I hop in the shower, get dressed and ready for work and leave around 8:50
On my way to work I stop by the Starbucks drive-thru to pick up coffee. Right now I’m loving the vanilla spice latte (nonfat, no whip).
I get to work around 9:15 and tackle the pile of things that need to be done. Ok, that sounded a bit too enthusiastic. Maybe “ease into my day with help of coffee” would be more accurate.
Sometime between Noon and 1:00pm I usually have lunch – today it was 12:30. As usual, I walk down to the grocery store and pick out something to eat.
Today I have a Gotham bagel with cream cheese and an Odwalla Strawberry C Monster. (Aren’t you glad I don’t blog about what I eat every day? You’d be so bored!)
At 3:00pm I take a break to grab another coffee (nonfat peppermint latte this time) and a piece of the most delicious lemon pound cake ever. I don’t know what they do, but it is soooo good. I manage to only eat half of it and save the rest for a snack tomorrow.
I leave work at 4:30pm and come home to feed the dog. On the way inside I pick up the mail which includes a package from Intelligent Nutrients! They send me some of their hair care products to review, and I’m super excited about them. (Full review to come!)
Then I work on Project Life for a while. I’m really trying to catch up from my NYC trip! While doing this I watch this week’s episode of Smash (DVR’d) and then listen to some music on iTunes.
Around 6:00, I realize that I’m pretty hungry and not sure what time dinner will be so I have a banana for a snack.
At about 6:30 the husband calls to tell me he is on his way home from work so I start preheating the oven for dinner. Macaroni and Cheese an French Fries – Yum! (Remember when I mentioned that I’m in love with these two foods recently? Proof.)
The husband gets home from work around 7:00pm and we eat dinner and lounge on the couch a bit after we are done eating.
After dinner we do a few chores and then I go back to working on Project Life and blog things for a while. At about 9:00pm we head back to the couch to watch Modern Family (that we DVR’d.) While watching the show I also paint my nails. (Two coats of SEPHORA by OPI Just a Little Dangerous
with one coat of Julep Brooke for those who are curious) After watching the show and relaxing a bit more on the couch, we head to bed at about 10:30pm.
On the way to the bedroom I realize that the cat needs food and give her some before heading to bed. A hungry, cranky, cat is definitely not something I wanted to deal with later that night/early the next morning!

I thoroughly enjoyed this post. I must secretly be some kind of voyeur, because I always love day in the life posts, the more mundane the better.
I envy your take out coffee. It’s always so much better than what I make at home, but it’s just not in the budget for us. Except today. We ran out of coffee and there was only enough for one cup this morning! I will not survive the day, so I’ll be hitting the Starbucks this morning!
Happy Monday!
I can’t say that takeout coffee is always in the budget here either…two a day is definitely not the norm….but I make it work. Mostly because I’m lazy, and addicted to Starbucks! 🙂
Happy Monday to you too, enjoy your Starbucks!!
You eat even more carbs that I do! haha This was fun to read.
Hahaha yeah I love me some carbs 🙂
I am so jealous that you don’t get out of bed until 8 am!
I keep thinking about writing one of these posts, but I feel like I’d have a big blank in the middle of my day when I go to work (I try to keep my school life a mystery). Maybe a Sunday post would be good…Thanks for the inspiration!
I feel SO lucky that I don’t have to get out of bed until then! No early hours, no long commute, I love it 🙂
Definitely do one!! I love seeing these kind of posts from people who don’t normally do them!
