Project Life Week 21 {May 19-25, 2013}

Week 21!

This was a pretty normal week, with some fun little things along the way.  One of those little things was that I learned that I really enjoy fresh kettle corn! I was downtown during the Farmer’s Market for the first time in a long time so I decided to stop and pick up some kettle corn for the husband, it smelled so good I had to try it! It had been a very long time since I had had fresh kettle corn, and it is so much more delicious than the bagged versions that seem to be all the rage these days.  That salty and sweet combination of warm popcorn is pretty amazing.

The big event of the week was a Yelp Elite outing at Brasserie V!

(Full disclosure: I got to sample their food for free courtesy of Yelp, but I am not being compensated for this post and the opinions are completely my own. Also, if you aren’t active on Yelp in your community I highly encourage it! If you are active enough and become Yelp Elite there are many wonderful events you can be part of.  You don’t need to be a blogger either, anyone can be Elite!)

I went to this event with Sarah, and going into it I didn’t really know what to expect but I had never been to Brasserie V so I was excited to see what they had to offer! Turns out, they have amazing food.  The owners, chef, bartender, everyone there was wonderful and really cared about the food (and drink) they were serving.  I am not a beer drinker, but for my beer loving friends, they had an amazing selection of brews.  And I don’t mean the typical for Madison local beer selection, I meen tons of unique Belgian beers! Oh, and yes, the photo that you see is of mussels! I got to sample their Moules Et Frite and they were AMAZING.  Both the mussels and the fries.

Some other little things that happened this week included my first trip to Cherry Berry (I don’t know what took me so long!), and I signed up for another race!

Mindy tweeted that she was thinking about running the Zooma Half Marathon in Chicago in August.  While I am not up for running a half marathon, there is also a 10k option!  I have heard great things about the Zooma races so I though I’d go for it. Stina is also running the half marathon with Mindy, so I am excited to cheer them on after I am done running my 10k!

Hooray, another week is in the books! I’ve really started to love working on my Project Life layouts on weekend mornings.  With a cup of coffee and some tv on in the background (usually something on E!, Style, or Food Network) it is a great way to ease into the weekend.

  2. I am very sad that we won’t be in Madison on a Saturday– I’ll miss the market!!

    • I know!!! I mean, I’m sure you could find another Farmer’s Market around town since there seems to be one somewhere every day of the week, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be the same!
