Full Disclosure: I paid for this meal with my own money. I am not being compensated for this post and the opinions are completely my own.
Part of the reason that I was in Chicago last time was to go to a couple of trade shows for work. After a busy Saturday racing, and then checking out Old Town, Sunday was filled with work. I had some time for lunch in between two appointments, but also had some things to drop of back at my hotel room. Instead of rushing back to my hotel and then scrambling to find some food, I decided to take it a little more low key and eat at the restaurant at my hotel. American Craft Kitchen and Bar seemed like a quick and easy option.
American Craft is actually a local restaurant and sources a lot of its ingredients locally. I wasn’t expecting a local restaurant at my hotel, so that was definitely a pleasant surprise! For lunch, I chose the Breaded Organic Chicken Sandwich and fries.
It was really good! The chicken sandwich was probably one of the best ones that I’ve ever had. I also really liked that instead of breading and frying a giant chicken breast, there are a few smaller pieces on the sandwich which makes the chicken to breading ratio much better. The chicken was juicy and the bread tasted fresh and delicious as well. The fries were good too, but not anything extraordinary.
Taste: A+, really good. One of the best breaded chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had.
Cost: A, it was a little bit pricey – my meal was $15 – but considering the quality of the food, so many things being sourced locally and organic, I didn’t think it was a bad price.
Would I go there again? Yeah I think so. It is a little bit out of the way since it is in a hotel, but the food was very good and it wasn’t very busy, so it would be a good place to go again if I’m looking for a quick by hearty meal.
