Full Disclosure: I paid for this meal with my own money. I am not being compensated for this post and the opinions are completely my own.
After a drive up to Minnesota, I arrived in Minneapolis last Wednesday and picked up Mindy from the airport. We headed downtown to walk around for a bit before meeting Heather and Julie for dinner. We saw the Mary Tyler Moore statue, lots of cute restaurants and street art, and numerous people wearing red shirts and khakis. (apparently there was a big conference going on at the Target HQ, which was very close to the conference hotel.) We eventually made our way to Newsroom for dinner. (Fair warning: their site auto-plays music.) The space is super cute and cozy, and since we went at an early time for dinner, it wasn’t very crowded at all.
The menu isn’t very large, but is pretty diverse. Mindy got pasta, Heather and Julie shared a few Happy Hour appetizers. (including the Thai Tacos, which they raved about) and I went with the Margarita Pizza.
The pizza was quite large – definitely enough for at least two servings. The crust was cracker thin, I think the crispiest thinnest crust I’ve ever had, probably my favorite part of the pizza. The flavor of the rest of the pizza was good, but it was a bit oily – I’m guessing because of the pesto. I would have preferred more cheese and less pesto, but I put more cheese than normal on everything.
Overall it was a good meal, and a neat local spot in downtown Minneapolis.
Taste: A-, if it would’ve been less oily it would have been pretty delicious.
Cost: A, my pizza was $9.95, not a bad deal for such a large pizza.
Would I go there again? I’m not sure. It would be a good place for happy hour, but I’m not sure I would go there again for dinner since there are so many other options around there.

I haven’t checked out the newsroom yet, but with a deal like that, I’m definitely going to add it to the list!
tons of the happy hour plates were $5!! I wish I could go back for dinner RIGHT NOW!
