Full Disclosure: I paid for this with my own money and am not being compensated in any way for posting about it. All of the opinions are completely my own.
While we were downtown the other weekend, we stopped at a couple of food carts that were on the square during the Farmer’s Market. For lunch, I ate at Melted, and the husband ate at Slide. We also tried some deep fried goodies from Fried and Fabulous. (FYI, that is a link to their Facebook page because I couldn’t find a website.)
We got a small order of cheese curds, one deep fried Oreo and one deep fried cookie dough. They were all pretty good! The cheese curds were probably my favorite of the three. I didn’t try the Oreo, but the cookie dough was pretty good too. (I think I still like cookie dough egg rolls more though.)
Also worth noting – we found a toothpick still in our cookie dough, so eat with caution!
Taste: A-, tasty deep fried goodies.
Cost: A, I don’t remember exactly how much everything was, but I don’t remember it being anything out of the ordiary.
Would I go there again? Yeah I think so. Obviously deep fried foods aren’t an every day occurrence, but I like that you an buy one deep fried Oreo rather than deep frying a whole batch of them at home.

If you had between the cheese curds here and the cheese curds at the old fashioned (I might making up that name, but I think that’s what the restaurant is called) which would you pick?
So, my definite favorite cheese curds are at Craftsman (which is not downtown) but The Old Fashioned has some of the best, too. These were good, solid, cheese curds, but not as amazing as some of the others.
Craftsman is definitely my favorite curd in the city! Good to know that Fried & Fabulous isn’t bad– it’s been on my “to try” list.
