Restaurant Review: Brick

Full Disclosure: I paid for this meal with my own money and am not being compensated in any way for writing about it.  The opinions are completely my own.

Last week I was in Phoenix, Arizona for work.  One of my favorite parts of going to a new place is finding new restaurants.  This week I have a few Phoenix restaurant reviews to share with you!

When I arrived in Phoenix, it was about 4pm , but my body was used to central time zone which meant it was definitely dinner time! I dropped my bags off in the hotel room, and headed across the street to shopping center that the concierge suggested for several different food options.

After checking out all of my options, I decided on Brick. Brick oven pizza is one of my favorite foods, and it seemed quick enough for my growing hunger) so I decided to give it a shot.  I ordered a Margherita pizza (fresh mozzarella, basil, and roasted garlic) and brought it back to the hotel with me to eat.

The pizza was a bit disappointing.  The edge crust was tasty – but not like typical brick oven pizza.  It tasted like garlicky breadsticks.  The rest of the pizza was not great, and there were whole cloves of garlic, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before on pizza.

Taste: B-, Maybe if it didn’t call itself a “brick oven” style pizza, I would have had different expectations, but this was definitely not that style and not that great.
Cost: B,  It was not horribly expensive for a small pizza ($12) but considering the quality it seemed a little overpriced.

Would I go there again?  I don’t think so.  There were other pizza options in the city that I would definitely check out before this one.
