New Foods I’m Loving: Better Oats Oat Revolution Steel Cut Oats

Full disclosure: I paid for this food with my own money, and I am not being compensated in any way for this post.  As always, the opinions are completely my own.

I’ve been on the search for warm, healthy, and super easy lunch/snack options.  I recently bought some microwave oatmeal packets thinking those would do the trick, but no such luck.  They were alright, but way too easy to over cook and honestly, ever since I tried steel cut oats, regular oats just don’t taste as good. I wasn’t even sure there was a “quick cooking” steel cut oats option, but I found one! And it’s a good one.

I was browsing the hot breakfast section at Target when I came across Better Oats Oat Revolution Steel Cut Oats.  Microwavable.  Steel cut oats.  Added flax for some health and maple and brown sugar for taste.  Super tasty.  The serving is a bit larger than the typical microwavable oatmeal serving – which is good for an adult/pregnant person’s appetite.  I can’t find them on the brand site, but the ones that I buy are actually in their own container, which makes things even easier!

Taste: A+, not super sweet, but sweet enough to not taste bland.
Cost: A-, I don’t remember exactly how much they were, but I believe they were around $3 for two containers.  Not exactly cheap, but not too bad for a healthy convenience food.

Would I buy it again? I have already and I definitely will again.  Even though I’m sure I could make my own steel cut oats, portion them, and reheat them, for less money, sometimes convenience wins.
