It’s been a while since I’ve posted Weekend Cravings (a la Katy Love) but I have some for you today!

I am definitely craving some creativity time this weekend!!

- I have way too many weeks of Project Life to catch up on (3, I think?) and I know I say this every weekend, but I would really like to get caught up on those this weekend!

- I also have finally decided what I am doing for that baby knitting project I was debating about before! The yarn is ordered, and it should be here very soon, I cannot wait to start!

- My lawn/garden is finally starting to look decent again….but it still has a ways to go, which seems to be the case every Spring, but I’m working on it. What is so crafty about the garden?

- Does baking count as creativity if I am using someone else’s recipe? That is hopefully going to happen this weekend too…I have so many awesome recipes bookmarked I don’t know where to start!

Have a great weekend!!

Full Disclosure: I was invited to The Wise to try their new menu. I did not pay for this meal, but I am not being compensated for this post and the opinions are completely my own.

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the public relations manager at The Wise to tell me about their new Spring menu, and ask if I would like to set up a time to come in and try some things from the menu and talk with the chef about the restaurant. I was immediately interested. I have been wanting to try The Wise for a while now, so this seemed like a wonderful opportunity. Also, one of the example menu items that she mentioned caught my eye: “Lunch: Grilled Cheese. The Wise version is made with Jones Dairy Farm bacon, Green Bay cheddar and Madison Sourdough bread, with roasted apple jam made with Wisconsin apples.” That sounded SO good….minus the bacon of course (We didn’t actually get to try that one since it is on the lunch menu, but we had plenty of other delicious food so it wasn’t a big deal) Sarah and her husband had been invited as well, so we decided to make a date night out of it and go together!

The restaurant is located inside the HotelRed on the corner of Monroe and Regent Street, across from Camp Randall. The setup is more like a lounge or bar setting than a restaurant. I wasn’t expecting it to be like that, but I actually really liked how open the setting was, it gave it a bit more of a relaxed feel.

When we first arrived, the Kentucky Derby was about to begin so we took a seat at the bar and watched that before we sat down to eat. They have a new Spring cocktail menu, so we each tried something off of that as well. I had the Capitol Cocktail – Rehorst Citrus and Honey Vodka, Cointreau, lime juice, cranberry juice & seltzer. It was SO good. The husband had the Red Rum Smash - Yahara Bay Premium White rum, Chambord, simple syrup, lime juice. He really enjoyed that as well. Throughout the evening we tried pretty much the entire list of drink specials between the four of us. Another favorite of mine was the Infrared - Stoli razberi Vodka, Chambord, lime juice, sparkling wine. The husband also liked the Moscow Mule - russian Standard Vodka, Wiscopop Ginger Brew, lime – it came in a cool copper mug!

With the drinks, we had some crab cakes - Tender crab meat in a crisp fried cake with house seasonings, lemon aioli & bell pepper. I am not a huge crab cakes fan, but I do really like crab, and these were good! They were minimally fried, and mostly crab on the inside – they tasted very fresh, not like many restaurant crab cakes that taste like they could’ve just come out of the freezer.

To start our meal we snacked on a an Olives, Meat, and Cheese Tray - House marinated olives, local charcuterie from Underground Meat & Wisconsin cheese, garnished with fruit. A great way to start the meal. I loved the cheese, crackers and apples, and I know the husband is a big fan of the Underground Meat.

Also as an appetizer, we had some Hand-Cut French Fries with Dip. These were SO good, the secret is apparently that they are double fried. The other secret is the sauces! Normally you get to choose once dipping sauce, but we got to try all of them: smoked paprika, mustard dip, ginger & wasabi mayo, aioli or basil mayo. My favorite was by far the basil mayo. I am not at all a mayo fan, but the basil was really amazing and a great compliment to the fresh fries.

Along with the fries we had Fish Tacos - Market fish marinated & grilled, topped with pineapple & RED salsas, queso fresco, finished with fresh cilantro. I am not a huge taco person, so I didn’t love these but I did really like the sweetness of the pineapple with the fish!

Next we tried a few different salads.

We got to sample all three of the salad options. First was the Spinach Salad -with roasted beets, pickled watermelon rind, Wisconsin Chevre & a local honey lavender dressing,

then the Stone Fruit and Passion – avocado & mango with mixed greens, sunflower seeds, cilantro & passion fruit vinaigrette,

and finally (my favorite) the Spring Greens – tossed with grilled asparagus, bell pepper & citrus dressing.

The spinach salad and the stone fruit salads were alright, but I’m not a huge fan of avocado or beets so they weren’t my favorite. The spring greens salad on the other hand, I loved. I could do without the bell pepper, but the greens with the grilled asparagus and delicious citrus dressing was probably one of my favorite things that I ate all night. It wasn’t a very heavy salad so it was great to start the meal.

Throughout the meal, Chef John came out and chatted with us about the ingredients in the dishes, asked us our thoughts about the food we were eating. I was a little bit surprised (in a good way) about how down to earth he was! He was very friendly, answered all of our questions as best he could, told us stories about how he got the be where he is today, and we even chatted about other local must-visit restaurants. (apparently I need to visit Pig in a Fur Coat ASAP!) I thought it was awesome that he really tries his best to source locally if he can, but he also realizes that if he wants things on his menu that aren’t grown in the area (like mango) he has to make sacrifices for that.

Next it was on to the entrees.

First was the Pork Tenderloin Medallions marinated in rich spices, grilled & topped with lime-washed mango relish alongside a crisp & fresh gingered cucumber salad. I’m not a big pork person, so this was just alright for me.

Next I tried the Local Hereford Beef Short Ribs slow cooked in a Guinness & pomegranate demi above fork crushed Wisconsin potatoes drizzled with a garlic & peppercorn oil. This was definitely a favorite of the group. I am not a fan of ribs, so I didn’t love it. I did, however, love the flavor of the glaze, and the potatoes!

The third was my favorite entree – and something that I had never had before – Lamb Chop Pops with shiitake & herb crust, house mustard jus, herb pesto and bacon and shallot roasted Wisconsin potatoes. Lamb is definitely something that kind of scared me to try before, but these just looked so pretty and fancy that I had to try them – and I am sure glad I did! They were incredibly tender and had just enough seasoning. And of course the potatoes that were with them were delicious as well.

After dinner we were all pretty stuffed. But wait, there was still dessert! There is always room for dessert!

We decided to dine al fresco on their patio for the dessert course.

We got four different desserts to share among us. First was the peanut butter and banana cheesecake with house-made peanut brittle. Not my favorite (as you might have guessed) but I did actually try a small bite of the cheesecake and it is more like banana with a hint of peanut butter, still too much for me though. This one does win my vote for best presentation though!

The next one I tried was the chocolate pots du creme with Alterra espresso. This was delicious. It looks kind of like just a chocolate pudding, but the texture is thicker and the flavor is richer. The espresso flavor is there, but not overwhelming, just how I like it!

The next dish was probably the most unique dessert, a citrus olive oil cake with blueberry jam and mascarpone. I don’t think I’ve ever had (or heard of) olive oil cake before, but it was tasty! It was super moist, and I loved the citrus flavor, especially mixed with the berries and mascarpone.

The last dessert was probably my favorite. It was a raspberry and chocolate truffle torte with raspberry coulis. It was so dense and rich and chocolatey. It tasted like one giant truffle – which I suppose could be why it is called a truffle torte.

After dessert we were all completely stuffed. Chef John offered to give us a little tour of one of the rooms in the HotelRed which is connected to the restaurant. I absolutely love boutique hotels (which HotelRed is) so I jumped at the chance. The hotel had a modern feel and is definitely somewhere I would stay. Each room has ample space, flat screen televisions, modern decor, and a kitchenette. Many of the rooms have a balcony with an awesome view of Camp Randall and/or downtown Madison. It is definitely somewhere I would stay if I was coming in from out of town…or maybe even if I was going to a Badger Football game and wanted to have the convenience of being able to stay downtown for the night. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of the room that we saw (I blame my extreme fullness for that blogger fail!) but we did get a photo of the four of us on a balcony with a view of the stadium.

Overall it was a really great night. Delicious food, fun atmosphere, and great company.

Taste: A, really delicious and lots of options – much more on the menu that we didn’t even get to try. My favorites of the night were probably the crab cakes, fries, spring greens salad, lamb, and raspberry and chocolate truffle torte.
Cost: Since we didn’t pay for our meal I can’t really comment, but I will say that there is something for every price range. While the lamb is definitely on the expensive side, the spring greens salad was $9 and the french fries were $8 and I could probably make a decent meal out of that without it being overly expensive.

Would I go there again? Absolutely. I’m kind of craving those crab cakes again after writing about them…and also that Capitol Cocktail.

Last weekend was Mother’s Day. Each Mother’s Day (er, ok, pretty much any day of celebration that brings the family together…) we have brunch at my parents house. We switched up the menu this year since it was a smaller crowd, so of course I was thrown off on what to bring. My mom requested that delicious lemon cake, and some kind of fruit and/or yogurt dish. I am a big fan of Greek Yogurt (as is much of my family) so I decided I would do some sort of fruit and yogurt parfait. I probably could’ve just layered some fruit and yogurt in a bowl and called it a day, but I wanted to something a little bit fancier than that. I shouted out to Twitter for ideas, and of course the wonderful people at Chobani had a recipe that was perfect: Blueberry Muffin CHO Parfait. The recipe is made to make small single serving parfaits (in super cute mason jars) but since this was for a larger group, I decided to just make one big bowl.

This recipe definitely takes more time than just throwing together some fruit and yogurt, but that is what I was looking for. The first step is making the muffins (which also use CHO!) and then letting them cool completely before actually putting together the parfait. I made the muffins the night before and it worked perfectly.

Putting together the parfait is easy, an the result is deliciousness. Aside from making it into one large parfait instead of a few smaller, the only other thing that I changed was that I used strawberries and raspberries in addition to blueberries that they suggest. I am not a big fan of plain blueberries so these were really so that I would probably enjoy it more, and to add a bit more substance to the dish. The thing that really made this parfait stand out as something special was the addition of the torn up muffins. They were such a great addition, and definitely made it feel more special and almost dessert-like. And yes, because I know you all are curious, I do enjoy blueberry muffins, just not plain blueberries.

Ease: A-, it gets a minus next to that A only because you do have to plan ahead a bit to make the muffins, other than that it is a piece of cake!
Taste: A+, really delicious. Everyone seemed to enjoy it!

Would I make it again? Absolutely. This would be a great thing to make to bring to any kind of gathering, for a baby shower, or even just making for your own breakfast!

Full Disclosure: I paid for these cupcakes with my own money, the opinions are completely my own, and I am not being compensated for this post.

Even though I was only briefly in Milwaukee last week, I was hoping to pick up some cupcakes while I was there. It is a bit of a tradition for me to bring home some sort of sweets for the husband when I go out of town, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I asked my lovely Twitter friends if they had any suggestions for cupcake places in Milwaukee, and they came back with a couple of suggestions, one of which was just a few blocks away from where I was headed! (Thanks Kayla!) So, I headed to Classy Girl Cupcakes.

The shop was really cute. They had several different types of cupcake to choose from as well as cheesecake cupcakes and cupcake push pops! I was temped to get one (or five) of the cheesecake cupcakes, but I wasn’t sure how well they would last sitting in my car for a few hours. The cupcake push pops, however, I could not resist. I’d never seen them before so I had to see if they were as awesome as they seemed they would be!

I ended up bringing home two cupcakes and two cake pops for the husband and I. When I got home we ate the cupcakes and decided to save the cupcake push pops for another day.

The husband had the peanut butter delight cupcake and I had the lemon pound cake cupcake. They were good, but not our favorites. I really liked the flavor of the lemon frosting on my cupcake, but the cake itself was a bit dry.

A couple of days later, we had the cupcake push pops. I got a lemon and a cookies and cream, we shared both of them.

I never know if cupcakes are supposed to be refrigerated if you aren’t going to eat them right away. I always refrigerate them….and that may not have been the best choice for these push pops. The frosting was pretty solidified once we went to eat them, I’m sure they are much better (and easier to eat!) when the frosting is a normal temperature! That being said, they were pretty tasty! I especially liked the cookies and cream, it tasted almost like the cupcakes were made from Oreos! I really like the idea of these pops, and I wish we would have tried them when they were at a normal temperature.

Taste: A-, not our favorite, but pretty good. Bonus points for having cheesecake cupcakes and cupcake push pops!
Cost: A, each cupcake was $2.00 and the push pops were each $3.00. I think that is a great deal for the size and quality of the cupcakes!

Would I go there again? Yeah I think so. I would really like to try a cupcake push pop while it is fresh, and I’d also like to try a cheesecake cupcake!

Movies I watched recently:
1) Iron Man 3. I think Iron Man is my current favorite superhero movie series. Robert Downey Jr. is so awesome as Iron Man, and the supporting cast is great as well. I love that the movies are part action, part comedy, part romance. I’m not sure anything can match the first in the series, but Iron Man 3 was a pretty great movie. Worth seeing in the theater for sure.

2) Silver Linings Playbook. When this movie first came out I was pretty sure it was just another romantic comedy. Then it started getting nominated for awards, and then winning awards, and then I heard people raving it and I knew I needed to see it. So, we rented it last weekend. And, of course, I loved it. Everyone was really great, especially Jennifer Lawrence. I definitely recommend this, it is more than your typical romantic comedy that’s for sure!

Products I’m loving:
1) Badger Balm Cocoa Butter Lip Balm*.(Full Disclosure: I received this as part of a FairTrade box I got as a Klout Perk. I am not being compesated for posting about it and the opinions are my own.) I got this as part of a box filled with Fair Trade goodies from Klout. I have heard great things about Badger Balm, but this is the first time I’ve tried it. I wasn’t sure I’d like the Creamy Cocoa flavor that I received, since pretty much every chapstick I own is some sort of minty flavor, but I really like it! The cocoa flavor is pretty subtle, and the fact that it is so creamy and smooth more than makes up for me not loving the flavor. (I am kind of sad that it is called BADGER Balm and isn’t made in Wisconsin though…)

2) Nuun Tri Berry*. After the first time that I tried Nuun I set out to try a few other flavors because I really liked the idea of just having to put a tablet in the water so I really wanted to find a flavor that I liked. I’ve tried a few (they have a TON!) and the one that by far I enjoy the most is the Tri Berry. It has a very berry flavor and is really tasty….if the stuff wasn’t so expensive I would probably just put it in my water at every meal and drink it like juice.

Knitting projects that I need to get started on:
1) I recently won a giveaway for the yarn that is used to make the NachtFalter top from Holla Knits! I LOVE the top, but I’m afraid it is a bit more advanced than I am. But I have the yarn….so I should probably just give it a try, right?

2) A good friend of mine is having a baby this Fall and I really need to get started on a knitting project for the little one. My dilemma: blanket, or sweater? I know that she reads this blog so I’m not going to give away exactly what patterns I am trying to decide between.

Favorite things about Noodles and Company:
Full Disclosure: Noodles and Company gave me a free meal to try their new asparagus dishes. I am not being compensated for posting, and the opinions are completely my own.
1) Online ordering! If you ever go to a Noodles during peak hours, you know that the lines can be crazy. Even though they are fast to get the dishes out, there can still be quite a wait in line if you are in a hurry. My suggestion? Get your order to go, and order it online ahead of time. It makes things even quicker!

2) Customization! The thing about being a picky eater is that often times I add or subtract things to my meals to get them the way I want. Some places make it easier to do this than others. Noodles makes it very easy. Even if you order online, you can still add or subtract pretty much whatever you want to your dish. This most recently helped me when I tried their Garden Pesto Sauté – I got it without the red bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. This left me with gluten-free fusilli noodles, fresh asparagus, feta, and spinach, tossed in a light Genovese pesto. What I was left with tasted good, and very much like spring, but it lacked a little bit of oomph since I took out a bunch of the ingredients.

Events I’m looking forward to this month:
1) I’m going to a co-worker’s wedding this weekend and am very excited! I love weddings. And wedding cake.
2) At the end of the month I am FINALLY going to see Wicked! I love the music already so I can’t wait to see the full show.

Favorite running songs right now:
1) Ten Thousand Hours – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

I reeeeeally didn’t want to like Thrift Shop. But then I heard it a few times and realized how catchy it was. Then I downloaded Can’t Hold Us. and Same Love….and then I ended up downloading the whole rest of their album The Heist.
2) Hall of Fame – The Script feat. will.i.am (I also love the Glee version)

Yes, it was Glee that made me love this song. It has SUCH a great beat and lyrics to run to!

Full Disclosure: I paid for my meal with my own money, the opinions are completely my own, and I am not being compensated for this post.

Last week I took a quick trip to Milwaukee – like I was only there for about four hours quick. Tina and Skinny Runner were in town for an event so I decided to drive down and meet them for dinner! It may be the only time I see them this year so it was worth the drive!

After wandering around a bit, we chose Louise’s Trattoria. We hadn’t really looked at any restaurants in advance, so it was kind of a shot it the dark. The place looked cute, we were all pretty hungry and the menu had a little bit of everything to choose from, so it was where we chose to go.

The meal started with a basket of foccacia bread for the table, with some olive oil for dipping. Mmmmm…. so good.

To start, I also had a salad. I decided to get it kind of last minute so I went with the small Insalaia Louise which has mixed lettuces, roma tomatoes, cucumbers, mozzarella, mushrooms, and bell peppers without realizing really that it came with all of those veggies. It was tasty though!

For my entree I had the Three Cheese Ravioli with Fresh Spinach. It was good, you could definitely tell it was freshly made, but it was a little too al dente for me.

The other ladies had pizza, and to be honest I was a bit jealous of how delicious their pizzas looked! (they said they tasted delicious too!) The one that Tina had in particular looked really interesting. It was the Four Seasons Pizza which was basically four different pizza’s in one!

Overall it was a good meal! The atmosphere was really relaxing, the service was good, and the food was good. A pleasant surprise for not having looked into it at all in advance. (Well, maybe not everyone is like me but I pretty much always have a place or two in mind before going out to eat in an unknown area.)

Taste: A-, not perfect for me but pretty darn good! (I’m pretty sure the other girls would give it an A+!)
Cost: B+, I’m torn because $5.95 for my salad was a great deal, but $12.95 for my ravioli seems like a little bit much.

Would I go there again? I think so. Even though I didn’t love my meal, they do have a huge menu, so I do think I would want to try something else…..or maybe some of that delicious looking pizza!

Boy, week 18 was a fun one!

I made a belated birthday treat for the husband – Peanut Butter Bars!

I got my HLB Tea Swap in the mail at the beginning on this week, too! It was from Nicole who blogs at A Wild Hope – thanks Nicole, I can’t wait to try the tea!

We also finally had some warm weather that week! A solid couple of days with sunshine and 70+ degree temperatures was a welcome change from the cold and rain!

The biggest thing that happened this week was that I finally got a new car! I traded in my old car for a shiny new Honda CR-V! I should probably note, the Scion XB that I had was leased, and the lease was up so that is why it was time for a new car. There was nothing wrong with the Scion, but we just decided a Honda CR-V would be a bit more practical choice, and hopefully be around for a long time! Oh, and we bought it this time instead of leasing…for someone who is not a fan of car shopping, thinking about doing this all over again in three years was not such a happy thought.

Mostly just random things on the other page. A quote, a card from a friend, and one of my favorite product “nutritional” labels ever from my Chocolate Shoppe Zanzibar ice cream.

The other big thing that happened this week was that I was invited to try the new menu at The Wise! It turned out that Sarah had been asked to try the new dishes as well, so we decided to make it a little date night and invite our husbands along too! I will have a full review up soon, but overall everything was wonderful – food, drinks, service, atmosphere, etc. Stay tuned for that review next week!

Some detail of that fun label:

Have a great weekend!

Full Disclosure: I was given a Bestowed Box to try and review, and they are providing the giveaway box and coupon code to you. As always the opinions are completely my own.

If you have been reading this blog for a while….or more than like, a week…you’ve heard me mention at least one monthly box subscription that I have. Monthly boxes seem to be a huge trend right now, and I am loving it! I love getting mail, and for some reason I feel like knowing that a little gift for myself is coming in the mail prevents me from splurging on other random things. At first when I heard about these monthly subscriptions, I had only heard them in reference to beauty or food boxes, but now they are so much more. The variety that I currently subscribe to include nail polish, food, eco-friendly products, pop culture inspired products….and most recently, clothing.

When I was contacted by Bestowed to try their monthly box, I had to resist the urge to immediately accept. I do LOVE monthly boxes, but I also have so many already that I knew it had to be something unique and/or different for me to give it a try. I checked out their website a bit to find more information. I really liked that the woman behind this box program, Heather Bauer is a Registered Dietitian, and a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist. As someone who is always trying to find easier ways to make healthier choices, I was pretty excited that the hands choosing these products would be making the healthy choices for me! Added bonus: Heather graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, my alma mater! So, I decided to give the box a shot. I am always a bit iffy subscribing to food based boxes, since I am so picky, but since the husband is not nearly as picky as I am, I figured it would all get eaten one way or another.

Here is how the Bestowed Box works: For $19 per month, (or $209 a year) you get five (or more!) healthy products to try – each one hand picked by Heather Bauer. She chooses them based on nutritional elements and how they fit in to an overall eating regimen. Consideration also goes to where the product is made and the packaging that it comes in. Shipping is included in the price, and they are shipped to arrive on the 15th of the month. Right now they are only shipping within the United States.

The box that I received as a sample was packed with goodies, you definitely get your money’s worth! I really like that overall the products are generally from brands that I have heard of so that if I wanted to eat more of them I could find them at my local grocery store rather than having to order them online, or go to a super specialty store to find them.

My box included eight products, including more than one of a couple of them. The first one that caught my eye was the $25 iTrain gift card. Through iTrain you can download a variety of different workout instructions – running, yoga, strength training, and more. I haven’t downloaded any workouts yet, but I am excited to try some of the treadmill workouts to spice things up when I have to train on the treadmill this winter!

The first thing that I tried was the EBoost, which is a powder you add to water (or another beverage) for a little pick me up, and it is made with all natural ingredients like green tea leaf extract and stevia. I really had high hopes for this, since I am usually a big fan of pink lemonade, but I just didn’t like the flavor. It was so tart that it was hard for me to finish. I would imagine if I added it to a sweeter beverage instead of just plain water it would take a bit of the bitter edge off so I will probably do that with the second packet.

The next thing that I tried was the Happy Family Happy Squeeze Smoothie - the Fruit and Veggie Twist Strawberry, Beet, and Kiwi flavor. I have had squeeze pouch apple sauce before and loved it so I was pretty excited about this. Also, the Berry upBEET Smoothie from Jamba Juice is pretty much my favorite smoothie ever, so I was excited to see a similar combination of flavors in this squeeze pack! Good news: I loved it. I actually wish that it was larger – more of the size of an actual smoothie I guess – I wanted more! The flavor was really great, not too sweet, pretty strong strawberry and beet flavors with a hint of kiwi. YUM! I definitely need to find some more of those, it went really well with my lunch at work. I am having a hard time finding them at my local groceries, target, etc, though!!

The husband had some of the Kind Healthy Grains Oats and Honey Clusters granola with his lunch earlier this week. I’m not a huge granola fan, so I let him have it. I did try a little bit though, and it was pleasantly sweet! Not super sweet by any means, but it would add a little bit of a sweet crunch to greek yogurt!

Other things that were included in the box that I haven’t tried yet:
Nature’s Bakery Raspberry Fig Bar – I’m actually pretty excited to try this, it is currently stashed in my purse as an “emergency” snack!
Two single serving packets of Arrowhead Mils Instant Oatmeal – I haven’t had this before, and I’m not a huge oatmeal person, but this is currently at work as an “emergency” lunch option!
A small bar of Green and Black’s Organic Dark Chocolate – I have had this before and I am a fan! I love the small size of this sample too, it is perfect for a little treat!
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts - This was probably the most unique thing that I got in my box. Though I have heard of hemp, I really had no idea what to do with these until I read more about them on the package. Apparently they are actually seeds and you can use them as toppings on salad, yogurt, and cereal!
Simply Snackin’ Jerky Teriyaki Chicken Breast with Mango and Papaya- So, to be honest, I’m not a fan of dried meat at all. The husband likes it though, so I’m sure he will enjoy it! I was pretty excited to see that Simply Snackin’ is made in Wisconsin!

One of my favorite things about this box compared to others is the information sheet that comes with it. Most other boxes do include a list of the products that are included, but this one goes a step further by also giving tips and suggestions for how to use the products. For instance, one of their suggestions is to eat the Happy Squeeze Smoothie and a hard boiled egg or two as a breakfast if you are running low on time!

Overall I really liked this box! The quality and variety of the products they include is great, and I love the extra healthy living tips that are included as well. Would I buy it for $19 per month? I’m on the fence. That is not a bad price for everything that you get in the box, but with food based boxes like this I tend to get backed up with things that take longer for me to try and then my stash gets out of control and I end up donating some things to make room for new. I think if I did it, it wouldn’t be every single month, but it would be a fun surprise to get in the mail every few months!

I wish that they had a three month or six month program like some of the other boxes have so that you would still get a bit of a discount for buying in advance, but you don’t have to commit to a whole year. If I was paying a bit less for the box, I wouldn’t feel so bad about possibly donating some of the food that I haven’t eaten every once in a while! That being said, if you feel like you would eat everything in the box every month, you get LOTS of healthy foods to try for $19 a month!
